Ahh so glad Spring Break has arrived so we can celebrate the death and resurrection of our precious Savior Jesus Christ!
This year has been very busy and I didn’t really decorate like I usually do for Easter.
For the past few years we have stayed within the local Tri State area for little weekend getaways. This year we traveled with our friends to Kalahari Resort in the Pocono Moutains. While we didn’t stay on resort property we did spend the day at the water park. The kids had a wonderful time and so did we! When we visit next time – I’ll remember to come when its not a holiday weekend! It was very crowded but the place was huge so it accommodates
Afterward, we decided to revisit a little town a friend of ours had recommended we visit last year. New Hope, PA/ Lambertville,NJ are adorable sister cities that are connected by a walkable bridge.
New Hope, PA was a thriving Textile manufacturing center especially in the 1700’s. Many of the building are from that era. I’m no expert when it comes to its origins so I’ll stop here! Anyway, if you are from the Tri-State area it might be a fun little get away. We stayed outside of the area and drove there for a day trip. There are lots of artsy boutiques, coffee shops and yummy restaurants over looking the Delaware River. Our first trip we were there during the Shad Festival https://www.shadfest.com. This festival really makes these sister cities come to life!
My son and I decided to walk across the bridge where there’s a fun line telling you whether or not you are on the Pennsylvania side or the New Jersey one!
Lamberville, PA is a great place to go antiquing, window shopping and eating as well. We have a favorite teeny, tiny restaurant called El Tule Authentic Mexican 49 N Main St., Lambertville, NJ. The food is fresh and simply delicious! They even squeezed us in on this Holiday weekend!
Anyway, I’ll post a few pics from our trip! Let me know if you go and visit with your loved ones! I would love to hear what you think!
